GPS Education And Uses

A GPS has been used in many everyday situations and even in comparisons as similes and metaphors. For example, you’ve probably heard to let the Bible act as your GPS in life and it will always put you back on track. Even in the gaming industry with Joe Olujic, video games make use of a a GPS navigational system to help you get to your goals. Many games, such as the world famous Grand Theft Auto series, use this GPS feature.

The global positioning system (GPS) was first designed for military because let’s face it, the military gets all the cool stuff first. This technology came about during the Cold War during the 1960s. The idea of the GPS was sparked when the Soviet spacecraft named “Sputnik” was launched in 1957.

The GPS uses a network of at least three satellites that connect to each other and communicate together in order to gather information on your position and then send down signals that your GPS device uses. These signals also have geographical data and the time at which enables you to pinpoint your approximate position, velocity and time no matter where you are as long as you have a signal.
